The free version for Linux does not provide the virtual desktop functionality. The Workstation would most likely be suitable for your needs.

Point 2)… The virtual desktop functionality is not available in the free NoMachine for Linux. Workstation supports virtual desktops.
Hi David, you need a product with the virtual desktop functionality which allows individual multiple Linux desktops to run on the same host. Each user can have their own personal ‘virtual’ Linux desktop according to how the Administrator has configured it. The virtual desktop functionality is available in all the Linux products with exception of Enterprise Desktop and the free package:

Unfortunately, the transition to the new version of X.org has now been moved to NoMachine 5, so there will be no change with regards to this bug on Evolution until then.

Yes, you’re right. I’ve removed the label ‘solved’, but the thread remains closed because a TR is now open on it: https://www.nomachine.com/TR07L04481. You can use this to track the problem by signing up to know when it’s fixed.
The error messages tell me that you are trying to install a NoMachine (the free version) on top of a Small Business Server installation. If you want the updates to your Small Business Server, you can log in to your customer area and get the Update Version.
Hi, I removed your link because it points to a tutorial about the old version 3.5.0, and these forums are dedicated to version 4 client to version 4 server. The tutorial will only confuse users. For headless Linux servers, your best bet is to look at our own article:

The product you downloaded is the free NoMachine for Linux which gives access to the physical display. If you want to use it on a headless server, just follow the instructions here:

If you want to connect to a virtual desktop (like you did with version 3, assuming you were using the free version back then which was the NX Free Edition), then you need the Workstation as I already mentioned.I don’t think you had problems because the software didn’t work (it works out of the box) , it’s because you downloaded the wrong product.
