There is one problem with NoMachine SmartCard sharing:
I don’t understand how to find smart card reader on server side after redirection: 🙂
a) I installed pcscd, opensc and libasedrive-usb package to Ubuntu 12.04 client and server sidesb) on client: # opensc-tool -l
# Detected readers (pcsc)

and
# pkcs11-tool –module /usr/lib/opensc-pkcs11.so -L
Available slots:

c) I launched Nxplayer and said him to use /usr/lib/opensc-pkcs11.so security module, after that nxplayer redirected smart card to server
d) on server after redirection:
# opensc-tool -l
No smart card readers found.
and
# pkcs11-tool –module /usr/lib/opensc-pkcs11.so -L
Available slots:
Slot 0 (0xffffffffffffffff): Virtual hotplug slot
(empty)
and
# pkcs11-tool –module /usr/NX/lib/libpkcs11.so -L
error: PKCS11 function C_Initialize failed: rv = CKR_FUNCTION_FAILED (0x6)
Aborting.
Am I doing it wrong? 🙂

excuse me, maybe i don’t understand again, but you want to say that in default lightweight configuration NX 5 consumes more network than NX 3? are there some options that help me to reduce network in NX 5?

maybe I don’t understand something about “Firefox draw by bitmaps”, but with nx3.5 client I see that “Firefox draw by X11 primitives”.

Problem still exist in NoMachine Enterprise Server Evaluation_4.3.30_2_x86_64.rpm
steps to reproduce:
0. there is one enterprise server with one “localhost” node;
1. add new node “10.10.10.10”;
2. start new virtual session on “10.10.10.10”;
3. “nxserver –list” shows running session on “10.10.10.10”;
4. nxserver –nodedel 10.10.10.10
5. “nxserver –list” doesn’t show any session on “10.10.10.10”, but session still works fine;

Problem named “Could not start the display server. Error is 5. Input/output error ” fixed by upgrade to 4.3.30_2.

I removed the execution permissions on nxplayer.bin and everything works as expected for me.

I noticed this problem too:
“EnableLocalRecording 0” – works OK and hides “Show the recording bar” button from Monitor app in the tray (inside the virtual session)
“EnableSessionRecording 0” – doesn’t work – I still can press CTRL+ALT+0 -> Recording -> Show the recording bar -> OK -> Record the session and save file to client machine (where nxplayer runs)
My env:
Server:
nomachine-enterprise-server-evaluation_4.3.30_2_x86_64.rpm
ALT Linux SPT 6 x86_64
Client:
nomachine-enterprise-client_4.3.30_1_i686.rpm
ALT Linux SPT 6 x86

Sorry if I explained it not so well: I don’t want remove cool spinning wheel, but when this wheel works as “cancel button” – it’s not expected behavior I think.
My users:
– very inexperienced;
– some of them very old;
– many of them don’t understand English (https://www.nomachine.com/forums/forums/topic/gui-localization 😉 )
English hint will not so helpful as simple “Exit or Stop or Cancel” button – it was very clear in NX Client 3.5 with two buttons “Login and Cancel”, and without GUI localization. 😉I can’t give you logs about “session stucks on connection and user see forever spinning wheel” problem, because it reproduce very rarely, but it’s very annoying.
