BritgirlKeymasterYou have the free version of 4.6.16 installed: NoMachine – Version 4.6.16.
If it were the Workstation evaluation package it would say:
/usr/NX/bin/nxserver –version
NoMachine Workstation Evaluation – Version 4.6.16–subscription is telling you that you don’t have a subscription, which you don’t. You are using the free version.
BritgirlKeymasterHi, check the latest update 🙂 It has the shortcuts Ctrl-Alt-[MonitorID] and Ctrl-Alt-A (all) to let you switch on-the-fly.

BritgirlKeymasterThis post has been closed to avoid confusion between numerous questions in one topic. Please follow the TR links if you have reported an issue that we have also been able to reproduce. If your question is about a separate issue, please submit a new topic.
BritgirlKeymaster🙂 We’re glad you’re now able to use NoMachine. Just open a new topic if you have other questions. I’ll close this one.
BritgirlKeymasterHow to check which version of NoMachine or NX Server you are using

BritgirlKeymasterHi, we got them. We’ll provide some feedback as soon as we can.
BritgirlKeymasterHi alitz, we’re aware of this issue and a fix has already been prepared by our developers, which will be made available in the next update (this week).
BritgirlKeymasterHi, can you send all the attachments (logs from both sides) to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? Thanks.
Have you installed the Production Version of the Workstation package from your customer area?
BritgirlKeymasterMork, can you open a fresh topic for that issue? That way it’ll also be easier for other users to search for if they have the same problem. Thanks!
BritgirlKeymasterThe following articles about updating and what is preserved, session and cfg files will help:

BritgirlKeymasterIf you want the virtual Linux desktop functionality, then you need to purchase a license for the Workstation. We provide the evaluation software on the website without download restrictions. If you are evaluating and need more time, please contact our sales team with your scenario details.
BritgirlKeymasterWe aren’t aware of the any issues on Ubuntu with installing our packages. Can you send us the logs as per the instructions here? https://www.nomachine.com/AR07K00677
Send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure to reference the topic in your email. Thanks!
BritgirlKeymasterIt already does what you are asking 🙂 All of our servers let you connect to the remote desktop when the login screen is showing. We aren’t aware of any bugs regarding this. Can you tell us the Linux distribution and version you are using on the server side?
BritgirlKeymasterHmmm. Seems like a bug. If you only installed the free version (I thought you had followed my advice in another post and downloaded the Workstation) on top of the old free, then in theory it should install without any problems. We’ll look into this. For now, here’s a workaround:
1. Create file: sudo touch /usr/NX/etc/DisableBlockingScript
2. Do the update again (NoMachine Free)
3. Remove the file:
sudo rm /usr/NX/etc/DisableBlockingScriptOctober 13, 2015 at 08:48 in reply to: Any problems with Enterprise Client 4.0.314 and El Capitan? #8668
BritgirlKeymasterMac OS X 12 – A typo. I meant to write 11. El Capitan is the 11th release, also known as 10.11.
Anyway, let me try and explain better. You are using an old version of 4 (4.0.x) and it was replaced by subsequent versions of NoMachine, the last one being 4.6. When this was released El Capitan was still in beta so naturally it was tested with Apple’s own beta software. No issues were reported at the time. Then September 30th El Capitan was officially made available to the public. As you probably know testing software compatibility with third party beta applications doesn’t guarantee that issues won’t arise when that third party app comes out of beta. We released NoMachine 5 the day after. Similarly to version 4.6, in the run up to the release of NoMachine 5, it was tested using Apple’s beta version.
In the 2 weeks that have passed we’ve obviously been testing our own software heavily with the official El Capitan. We generally aim to be completely compatible within 30 days of a supported operating system production release (though I add that no software provider can give any one assurance that a software will be bug free), and also according to our own release schedule. So, any issues that you are reading about now certainly have the next NoMachine update (and this will be version 5.x) as a target release for fixes.
