KeymasterHi, I don’t see an email from you. Maybe the email is being caught up in our filters? If they are big attachments, they might even be prevented from getting through. Can you try again? Or alternatively, we can download them whichever external service you prefer. Send us the link privately.

KeymasterHi, can you submit the following:
i) Windows version on the PC
ii) logs from the client and server sides as well. Enable debug, reproduce then gather the logs and submit. You can extract them using the instructions here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07S00243. There are 4 steps to follow.Submit here or send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Please use the title of this topic as the subject of your email. Thanks!

KeymasterThanks for reporting. There is a bug that we are aware of related to point 5 in your post. There is a workaround there, so please try that: https://kb.nomachine.com/TR08V11198. For the other issues you are experiencing, we’re investigating.

KeymasterAre you referring perhaps to a protocol break by separating the web server host from the NoMachine server host? If so, yes this is already possible:

KeymasterIt’s not clear why you want to uninstall the NoMachine service. Perhaps you can provide us with some more information about what you are trying to achieve. If you prefer, you can contact us privately.
The “nomachine service” item is a shortcut to open Server Status & Settings in the player GUI. The exact same thing can be done from the tray menu, by opening the Server Status, and as well by just starting the player and entering settings.
You can’t uninstall it but you can disable it by disabling the keys EnableServerStatus and EnableServerPreferences in node.cfg which tell the player to not show those panels when the player GUI is opened. So if the user opens the player, clicks the shortcut or the tray menu, the server settings will be never accessible to them.

KeymasterHi, the server is not running (the red button shows it’s stopped) and so the “Desktop shared” (bottom right) is also toggled off. Can you reboot the Windows host? Does the server then start?

KeymasterHi kcat, this is a known issue with the latest update of macOS. We are currently working on a fix which will be released next week. In the meantime, you can read more about the problem here: https://kb.nomachine.com/TR09V11212.
Possible workarounds for macOS 15/Sequoia:
1) try re-logging in (logout-login on local), then connect again via NoMachine.
2) or launch the NoMachine client from a terminal:
/Applications/NoMachine.app/Contents/MacOS/nxplayer

KeymasterThere is no impact on performance and only only one port is used at a time. Reducing the range too much only increases the chance that all the ports in the range are busy, and in that case udp wouldn’t be used.
Britgirl
KeymasterThanks for following up and we’re happy to know you solved the issue.
For future use, and if you need a list of ports that NoMachine relies on, take a look at the following article: https://kb.nomachine.com/AR01L00770

KeymasterYou can use
sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --history
and alsosudo /etc/NX/nxserver --history --verbose
--history
Display, Username, Remote IP, Session ID, Date, Status, Node, Type--history --verbose
Display, Type, Session ID, Services, Depth, Screensize, Status, Session name, Username, Platform, Users, DateAlso
sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --history --stats
will give information about session numbers and users connected. The is also “server statistics” in the Server panel of the UI (Settings > Status). This will give you information at a glance. All of the Enterprise configuration guides have a section dedicated “Session Management”. For example, here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT07T00258#12. The Cloud Server isn’t mandatory, it all depends on what your specific requirements are.
In version 9, there are going to be improvements to the
--history
in general, making it easier for admins to parse this information for forensic reasons. -
