Are you running a custom, floating window(rootless) session?
Can you further clarify what you mean by this “when I select to bring up a sub-display”?
Thanks!June 29, 2021 at 10:00 in reply to: Remote access over internet to Ubuntu Desktop 20.04 using NoMachine #34243CarinParticipantHi skyrat,
Please take a look at these two articles:
How to connect to NoMachine when the server is behind a NAT router or a firewall
Connecting by SSH to a NoMachine host in version 4 or laterCarinParticipantHi Areeen,
It looks like this is an issue related to your network configuration. You can take a look at this article to help you check your network settings How to connect to NoMachine when the server is behind a NAT router or a firewall
CarinParticipantHi Aurum,
Sorry for the delay. In the meantime, we have been trying to reproduce this issue in our labs, but with no success.
In order to narrow things down, can you try to check the “Disable the client hardware decoding” option in the session menu panel – Display Settings (https://www.nomachine.com/dt10o00156#5.7)? Thanks!CarinParticipantHi algebravic,
Server-side logs would be helpful to investigate the issue. Can you please collect the logs following the instructions in this article Collect server and client logs manually and send them directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Please add the title of the topic in the email subject. Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi epikuri1,
this problem does not seem related to NoMachine software.
NoMachine does not affect the system configuration in any way, it rather uses what is configured.
Please check your display configuration in the system configuration.June 25, 2021 at 10:49 in reply to: Could not connect to the server. Error is 22: Invalid argument #34193CarinParticipantHi carolyc,
Can you send us your player configuration (.nx directory) and session file (.nxs file)? Please remove the stored password in the .nxs file. Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi r,
Thank you! We received the logs. However, we were not able to identify what is causing the issue.
Is that second machine (where it works) in the same network? Can you please collect and send us new logs as follows:
nxserver --debug --enable all nxserver --restart nxserver --upnpmap nxserver --upnpstatus nxserver --debug --collect
Again, please send the logs directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? Please add the title of the topic in the email subject. Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi tetra,
If I understood correctly what you’re trying to achieve, I am afraid it is not supported.
You can take a look at the topics below that dealt with similar questions:

The log files failed to attach. Can you please send them directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? Please add the title of the topic in the email subject. Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi danergo,
Once we get the desktop version of the NoMachine version 8 out, which is in its final stages, the mobile version will be aligned to that. I can’t provide a precise ETA, I’m afraid.
CarinParticipantHi diana12,
Can you send us server.cfg and node.cfg files from the Cloud Server installation, so we can take a look at your configuration?
Log files would be useful as well. Can you collect them manually following the steps below?
1. nxserver –debug –enable all
2. nxserver –debug –collect
3. nxserver –debug –disable all
You can also take a log at this article: https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/DT11R00181Please send the files directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, making sure you add the title of the topic to the email subject. Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi basstie,
Thank you for sending the files. We are currently working on a fix.
In the meantime, we suggest you try a temporary workaround:
– Insert this line:DisplayServerExtraOptions "-yuvgrab 1"
in/Applications/NoMachine.app/Contents/Frameworks/etc/node.cfg
and restart the server. Please let us know the outcome 😉
