CarinParticipant
Hi -shelter,
Any idea what this command does with the display manager script?
KDE session scripts are likely in an unusual location. Can you tell us if in Gentoo these files are in place?
/usr/bin/startplasmacompositor /usr/bin/kwin_wayland
I also figured out a workaround for KDE and the slowness that occurs.
Thank you for sharing the workaround that you’ve found. 🙂
CarinParticipantHi khsacc,
Please take a look at this article and check also the “Solving possible problems” section: How to connect to NoMachine when the server is behind a NAT router or a firewall
For both machines (Mac and Windows), NoMachine didn’t display the IP address WITH port number (like :xxxxx), I guess this might be the problem, but I’m not sure.
This means that port forwarding failed and you have to manually adjust your router.
CarinParticipantHi ikfredje,
we were not able to reproduce a problem similar to the one you described, during the NoMachine upgrade.
We will take a closer look at NoMachine behaviour during RHEL upgrades to see if we can reproduce and fix that issue.CarinParticipantHi alarouche,
We will need some additional information and server-side logs.
Is your machine headless?
Can you please send us the resolution list (from the system settings) and server-side logs? This article explains how to collect logs: https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/DT11R00181
Please submit them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com putting the title of your topic as the subject. Thanks!May 28, 2021 at 15:50 in reply to: No display shown on Linux Mint, system freeze up on Windows 10 #33735CarinParticipantHi dirtyb15,
Can you uncheck “Use acceleration for display processing” on Windows as shown here https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/DT11R00180?s=Guide%20to%20the%20NoMachine%20Server%20GUI#2.5 and send us new logs?
Again, send them as an attachment directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. Please make sure you use the title of the topic as the subject of your email. Thanks!CarinParticipantHi ps75,
This a known limitation and we have a Feature Request opened. Please take a look at this article Displaying NoMachine on monitors beyond 4k.
CarinParticipantHi alarouche,
we received your screenshot.
Did you allow screen recording in the permissions list? If you tried to, did you see that NoMachine was already enabled? If yes, please uncheck and check again that checkbox.
Can you let us know the screen resolution so that we can try to reproduce it? Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi Peter Sun,
Your log files failed to attach. Can you please send them directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, making sure you add the title of the topic as your email subject? Thanks!

It looks like you’re trying to connect to the local IP.
Please take a look at this article https://www.nomachine.com/getting-started-with-nomachine, section: “Using NoMachine for remote access to a computer over the internet”, it shows where to find the external IP.
It might also be useful to check again point 2.1 in the previous article: https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/AR10R01099
CarinParticipantHi alarouche,
Your screenshot failed to attach. Can you please send it directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, making sure to add the title of the topic on the email subject? Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi swall5555,
We were not able to understand what is causing the problem.
When it is working is it the same router/provider? And, when it stops working is it still the same router/same provider?Could you please enable server logs, and send us logs showing the two scenarios, when it works and when it doesn’t work so that we can compare? You can find the instructions on how to enable server-side logs here: https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/DT11R00182
Please send the log files directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, making sure you use the title of the topic in the subject of your email. Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi FastThenLeft,
Thank you. Now the question is clear, but unfortunately, we do not support forwarding microphone from server to client.
CarinParticipantHi ehammer99,
Did you set port 4001 on both sides? On the server-side in server.cf and on the client-side in the player UI or in the session file?
For UDP connections (only), the NoMachine procedure is always that the server is connecting to the player first. Only in the case that fails, it will try to connect to the server.
CarinParticipantHi Dan,
We did not receive any new email. The last email we received from you is from the 18th of May with the logs. Can you please send it again to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure to reference the title of the topic as the subject? Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi Aurum,
In order for us to investigate we need you to collect and send us both client and server-side logs.
Please see the following article for guidance: Collect server and client logs manuallyCan you please send them directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure you use the title of the topic in the subject of your email? Thanks!
