Can you check if the external IP in NoMachine is the same as on this page https://www.whatismyip.com/ ? If it’s the case then it should work.
If it doesn’t work, please check the rules for your router’s firewall.
If the IP is a different one, it can mean that you have a double NAT router.
It would also be helpful if you could check the port forwarding of some different services like SSH.
CarinParticipantHi Stijn,
It looks like this topic dealt with a similar case: https://forums.nomachine.com/topic/cant-connect-from-outside-of-network
Please take a look at it and let us know it helps. 😉

Can you tell us the NoMachine software version you’re using on both the client and server-side? And also the OS of the server-side machine (remote machine)?

CarinParticipantHi acuteaura,
Did you have a chance to take a look at this article: How to set up key based authentication with NX protocol ?
CarinParticipantHi neidai,
In order for us to investigate we need you to collect and send us logs. For now, it’s enough to collect server-side logs.
This article explains how to collect the logs: https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/DT11R00181#1.4Please submit them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com adding the title of your topic as the email subject. Thank you!

we received your logs, thank you! However, we could not find anything related to the problem you’re facing.
If you have not done it yet, I suggest you take a look at this article:Â How to connect over the internet to NoMachine behind a NAT router

CarinParticipantHi dlfuller,
This is a known issue. We suggest you enter full-screen mode by pressing Control+Option+F.
We have a high priority feature request open to solve this limitation: Integrating the NoMachine window fullscreen mode with macOS Spaces management.
CarinParticipantHi Antonio,
Is the user that sees a black screen connecting to a virtual or physical desktop?
We would need debug logs to investigate the problem:
1. Enable debug:Âsudo /etc/NX/nxserver –debug –enable all
2. Reproduce the problem
3. Collect logs:sudo /etc/NX/nxserver -debug -collect
and send them to us.
4. Disable logssudo /etc/NX/nxserver -debug -disable all
Please send the logs directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure to use the topic’s title in the subject.
If you can think of any other detail or additional information that might be relevant to help us understand the problem, please let us know 😉
Thanks!CarinParticipantHi pc-support,
If you need remote desktop access to the Windows and MacOSX machines, for example via SSH, then you can install the packages according to the following articles:
How to install NoMachine from the command line on Mac
How to install NoMachine on Windows in silent or very silent mode
At the end, you can use the following command to retrieve the information about the IPs:Â Â Â Â
nxserver --upnpstatus
For example:
sh-3.2# /etc/NX/nxserver --upnpstatus Local IPÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 192.168.1.68 Gateway IPÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 192.168.1.254 External IPÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 176.181.10.176 NX port 4000 mapped to:Â Â Â 176.181.10.176:27896
CarinParticipantHi ErikMouse,
Thank you for sending the screenshots. However, we could not figure out the problem.
Can you send us client and server-side logs to help us investigate this issue?
You can check this article for guidance: Collect server and client logs manuallyPlease send them directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure you use the title of the topic in the subject of your email? Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi pc-support,
This can be achieved using a combination of a NoMachine Cloud Server license (with port forwarding enabled) and NoMachine Enterprise desktop licenses (Mac and Windows, one license for each remote machine).
You can find more information in the articles below:
