August 31, 2021 at 13:21 in reply to: Connection timeout when connecting from Windows 10 Hyper-V Host to Ubuntu 20 VM #35038CarinParticipant
Hi HammyMarc,
Sorry for the delay.
Do you know if all the IPs you’re using in your configuration are static? Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi Marten,
can you tell us if your Mac is M1 or Intel? Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi Gus,
thank you!
The upside-down issue is related to this article: How to use NoMachine v. 6.8.2 or later on macOS Catalina
Did you do an update on the system or NoMachine? Or did you do something else that might have had an impact on the operating system security permissions?
CarinParticipantHi stijn,
Here you can find instructions for your router: https://portforward.com/hitron-technologies/coda-4589-res/
We could not find anything in the logs and we could not see the connection attempt, which indicates a firewall configuration problem.
Did you use the same port in port forwarding as UPnP? (UPnP port you can check in the player welcome screen on withsudo /etc/NX/nxserver--upnpstatus
command)Can you send us screenshots from the router port forwarding setup? Please send them via email to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com adding the title of the topic as the email subject. Thanks!
August 30, 2021 at 15:48 in reply to: Slow connection after computer wakes from suspend/hibernate #35021CarinParticipantHi wlima,
It looks like you are experiencing the same problem as described in this topic: https://forums.nomachine.com/topic/nomachine-time-lag-after-remote-computer-inactivity-lock-screen-2
Can you try the workaround mentioned in the thread (“Changing the resolution of the server and restoring it back is solving the issue”) and let us know if it also applies to your case? This will help us understand if the issue is actually the same. Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi samsing,
We will need some additional information to understand the problem.
Can you tell us know the following:
– which NoMachine product and version you’re using on the local and remote machines?
– the OS (if Linux, the distribution) on the client(local) and server (remote) machines? If there is any other additional information that you might consider important to better describe your use case, please let us know. 😉 Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi GlebChili,
this issue is known and we are working on a fix.
We have sent you a script with a workaround. Please check your inbox 🙂We suggest you try it and let us know the result. Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi tehn,
Can you tell us which NoMachine version did you install on the remote computer? Also, which product did you install on the connecting clients? Are you connecting using the browser?
The NoMachine free version does not support multiple connections.
The NoMachine Enterprise Desktop does support the connection of multiple users to the same physical desktop. Those users will all see and collaborate on the same desktop (more information here: Does Enterprise Desktop allow multiple users to connect to their own individual desktop?).Feature comparison: Remote access for everyone
Thanks!
CarinParticipantHi Ange 7,
The NoMachine free version does not support connections by SSH. To connect to a host where you have installed the free to download NoMachine package, you need to connect via NX protocol.
We suggest you take a look at this Forum topic that dealt with a similar use case using GCP: Cannot connect to VM(Ubuntu16.04) on GCP through Win10
This article might also be useful: Connecting by SSH to a NoMachine host in version 4 or later
Hope it helps 😉
August 25, 2021 at 11:37 in reply to: Disable certain shortcuts to be sent to the remote host #34980CarinParticipantHi deman,
Thank you for sharing your use case with us.
Unfortunately, this is not possible. In fullscreen mode, NoMachine uses active grabbing so all keys and shortcuts are grabbed.
August 24, 2021 at 11:20 in reply to: Can not login remotely to Ubuntu VM “Connection reset by peer” #34966CarinParticipantHi pjk313,
We reproduced an identical behavior in our labs using Wayland. If you are connecting to a Wayland-based desktop running in a Linux virtual machine, you can try the solution described in the following article:
Connecting to a Wayland-based desktop running in a Linux virtual machine
https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/AR04R01083CarinParticipantHi af85,
In order to understand better why you cannot see the physical session, we will need to see debug logs:
1. Enable debug:
sudo /etc/NX/nxserver –debug –enable all
2. Reproduce the problem
3. Collect logs:sudo /etc/NX/nxserver -debug -collect
and send them to us.
4. Disable logssudo /etc/NX/nxserver -debug -disable all
You can also take look at this article with the detailed instructions: https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/DT11R00181#1.1. Please send the logs directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure to use the topic’s title in the subject.
The desktop environment you are accessing will be useful to know as well. I take it that before you configured screenblanking and screenlocking for the physical session, you were able to see the physical session and connect. In the meantime, you could connect using a virtual session maybe.
If you have an active subscription, you are entitled to open a support ticket.
CarinParticipantHi yukeyyang,
In this article that you mentioned Accessing your remote desktop on Google Cloud Platform via NoMachine, can you please check in the section Preparing the Virtual Machine if by any chance you missed the step below?
“Click on the menu button for your VM instance and go to the “View network details” of the new VM to configure firewall settings and enable incoming connections on tcp port 4000 which is the default NoMachine port for connections by NX protocol.”
CarinParticipantHi stijn,
Are you sure that you are connecting to the correct IP and Port?
Please execute this commandsudo /etc/NX/nxserver --upnpstatus
on the sever side and connect to IP and Port which are listed in the line starting with: NX port 4000 mapped to:If the problem appears please enable debug, restart nxserver (
sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --restart
) and execute the commands below:sudo /etc/NX/nxserver –upnpstatus sudo /etc/NX/nxserver –upnpmap
Send the logs to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, making sure you add the title of the topic in your email subject.
In this article, you can find more instructions on how to enable and collect debug logs automatically: https://www.nomachine.com/DT10O00162.Can you also tell us your router model?
August 20, 2021 at 17:09 in reply to: Slow connection after computer wakes from suspend/hibernate #34937CarinParticipantHi wlima,
Did you try to use that machine locally, by physically accessing it instead of through NoMachine, when it is in that suspend/hibernate state? When you did this, did it work without any problems?
