Have you tried checking the default output playback device on your Windows 10 host? A bug in Windows 10 (Windows support accepted our bug report) switches the default speaker to NoMachine Microphone Adapter. If that happens, you need to change it back to the previous setting. See the example below.

Knowing the NoMachine server version installed on the remote host would also be useful. Is it the latest, 6.1.6?

Check the IP on the router and then verify it with link following instructions from https://portforward.com/actiontec/t3200m/ – it’s on right, top corner – External IP: XX.XX.XX.XX).

If router and IP on sites aren’t the same , you need to contact your provider. Failing that, this feature will help solve the problem: https://www.nomachine.com/FR07J02731 (coming soon).

With NoMachine for Mac unlimited accounts can indeed access the remote desktop. This is allowed by Apple’s EULA as well. All you need to do is install Enterprise Desktop which supports unlimited connections. Those users will see the same physical desktop.

If I understand correctly what you are asking is for a terminal server for Mac, like we offer for Linux, which allows different users to connect to their own virtual desktop or display which is running in the background. This is not allowed by Apple. If, on the other hand, you’re referring to fast user switching, this is already supported.

What you are asking is not possible because the macOS EULA will not allow it:

It’s possible “to control a separate graphical desktop session of the Apple Software that is different from the one running and being displayed on the Home Mac, and such connection may only be made through the Screen Sharing feature of the Apple Software”

On Linux, it’s different. There are things that are trivial to do on Linux that are not as easy on OSX, especially when you are dealing with an OS where what you can do and what you cannot do is written in the EULA 😉

    Hi Netopia,

There are multiple ways to have a shortcut pointing to your connection settings:

    – Click New in the client, and at the end of the wizard check the option “Create a link on the desktop”

    or

    – Copy the connection file on to the desktop – the connection file is located by default in Documents\NoMachine

    or

    – Copy the connection file and paste it as shortcut on desktop

In all cases you can save the password in the connection file, if you don’t want to be asked again at connection time.

When you’re in the authentication panel the first time you connect, select the box “Save this password in the connection file” then click OK.

There is a feature request planned:

At the moment, transferring a folder or dragging a folder is not supported.

You can drag and drop multiple files: select multiple files on the server, drag them out of the client’s window then release the mouse button. They’ll be saved on the desktop. It works the other way as well.

Alternatively, you can use the ‘connect a disk’ feature. By connecting a remote disk/drive within the session, its contents will show up in your local desktop’s file manager. This also works both ways, so when connecting a local disk with the session running, its content will show up on your remote desktop’s file manager.

Ok 🙂 thanks for letting us know. The fact that an update eliminated could be just a coincidence, but to investigate now would not point us to why it kept disconnecting after the system crash. Sooo, if this disconnect issue happens again, we’d need to know any messages you’re seeing and then of course the logs.

We’re waiting for the board so we can investigate this – it’s one that we’ve not yet added to the tested list 😉

Can we take a look at the logs? You’ll need to enable debug, reproduce the issue and then extract the logs.

Send them to the usual email address you’ve used in the past.

Open a terminal on the server and tell me what output you get for:

    sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --version

    and

    sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --list
