KeymasterI assume you are connecting to a remote Linux host (you originally opened the topic for Windows questions) so I’ve changed it since virtual desktops are a feature of our Linux products with the terminal server functionality (e.g Workstation).
When connecting to a virtual desktop on Linux, the applications are part of the desktop and you will see them only in the taskbar of that virtual desktop.
What you need to do is to ‘Create a new custom session’ which will run applications in rootless mode and you will then see them in your local taskbar. There are two ways to do this:
1) Create a new custom session for every application you want to access
OR
2) Create a new custom session and flag the ‘Run the console’ (see attached). This will start a console from which you can then launch the applications you want by using the appropriate command.

KeymasterNoMachine supports H.264 hardware encoding provided by graphics cards with Nvidia Kepler microarchitecture onward and will add support for Intel Quick Sync video cards: https://www.nomachine.com/FR03M02905
Have you read the documentation here? https://www.nomachine.com/AR10K00706
To go back to an earlier question you asked, you can see what codec is being used during the session by opening the menu (Ctrl-Alt-0) and going to Display -> Change Settings and looking at the bottom of the pane.
You can also see what’s being used in your session by looking in the C-*/session logs. There should be a line such as: Info: Using H.264 software encoder or decoder etc.

KeymasterTry changing the key ‘Switch to software decoding on Windows if resolution is bigger than 1920×1080’ to false in the player.cfg file.

KeymasterI will close this topic. We are still unable to reproduce it. If you are able to get logs as we described, send them to us and we’ll take a look.

KeymasterYou need to use double dash with “purge” and “reinstall” values, so check that first. For more info you can also check manual
man apt-get
.sudo apt-get install --reinstall lubuntu-desktop sudo apt-get autoremove --purge ubuntu-desktop

KeymasterBerner,
this is a question that you should really be putting to the Ubuntu community.
Lubuntu is a lightweight DE so you could try that. NoMachine supports most desktop environments. You can find some examples of what lightweight ones we have tried with in the following article of our knowledge base: https://www.nomachine.com/AR07K00676.
Trying with Lubuntu you need to execute:
sudo apt-get install –reinstall lubuntu-desktop
sudo apt-get autoremove –purge ubuntu-desktopYou should also take a look at this article which tells you how to set up a DE different to the default one installed on your Linux host, https://www.nomachine.com/AR04K00667.

KeymasterWe’re not able to reproduce this issue. From a terminal on the Raspberry host can you give us the output of :
grep -E “hdmi_group|hdmi_mode” /boot/config.txt
Logs from the connecting client will be useful. You should follow the instructions for the client side here https://www.nomachine.com/DT07M00098 and then submit them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
From the Raspberry we’d need a tar of /usr/NX/var/log directory.
