KeymasterThe problem with the connection to the server for Google Cloud is related to a bug in NoMachine. This is the same error in both cases on Ubuntu 16.04 with Gnome and Ubuntu 14.04 with Xface. A possible workaround is to set key EnableUPnP from “NX” to “none” in the server.cfg file.

KeymasterHi, try disabling UDP as a temporary workaround. Do that via the GUI: choose the connection -> Edit -> Advanced -> uncheck ‘use UDP communication for multimedia data’.
So far we’ve not been able to reproduce the issue. Would you be interested in installing a debug version to help with our investigation?

KeymasterYou are using the legacy version 3.5.0 or earlier. Install the Workstation or ask your provider to update the NoMachine server version they are using, or better still to open a ticket in the support section of their customer area. All 3.5.0 issues are dealt with via that channel. The forums are for users of the latest version from our website.
If the issue continues (though we are not aware of similar problems on Ubuntu) with NoMachine version 5, we can continue the investigation further.

KeymasterIs this NERSC at Lawrence Berkeley? If so, it might be a good idea to check with them first because in order to help you we’ll need the server side logs, not just client-side logs. On the other hand, if you are also the administrator of the server, send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
Instructions on how to enable and extract them are here: https://www.nomachine.com/DT07M00098

KeymasterCheck the box. What happens?
Britgirl
KeymasterThanks for reporting.
We’ve reproduced it and have opened a Trouble Report which you can view here: https://www.nomachine.com/TR08N07112
Please use the ‘notify me’ service to know when a fix has been released.
Britgirl
KeymasterHave you checked the box ‘Grab the keyboard input’ (first checkbox on the right in Input section of Player settings)?
Britgirl
KeymasterSo next, I turned on logging. Logs attached.
We didn’t get those logs. Can you send them on to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com?
Britgirl
KeymasterWe still need the logs as Tor requested 😉

KeymasterThis post can help you probably:

KeymasterWe ship a libcrypto library. Can you check if there is a proper libcrypto in /usr/NX/lib?
The script /usr/NX/bin/nxwebclient sets LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the /usr/NX/lib and runs nxwebclient.bin.

KeymasterAre you still using 5.1.26? Or have you updated? We need to know so we can send you a debug package 😉

KeymasterIt looks as if you don’t have a desktop environment installed. NoMachine looks for the default desktop on Linux and configures everything for you. If you don’t have a DE you need to install one. You can either install a DE, then set the following key manually:
DefaultDesktopCommand in node.cfg e.g DefaultDesktopCommand “/etc/gdm/Xsession gnome-session'”
or if you don’t want to do it manually, you can uninstall NoMachine, install the DE such as Gnome or KDE, then reinstall NM.

KeymasterI found this thread with changing gdm->lightdm…is this the correct solution?
https://www.nomachine.com/forums/topic/fedora-22-problem-walland-related
It could help. Try it and let us know.
You should update to the latest version in any case. Let us know if you still have a black screen issue.
Britgirl
KeymasterCould be related to a couple of other issues we have been investigating and reported on the forums https://www.nomachine.com/forums/topic/clean-install-service-doesnt-start-win-10. We’ll update the topic once we have some more information.
